~*~Honoring Our Veterans~*~

We must take a moment to honor the many men and women of the past and present who have given the supreme sacrifice for their country. They come from all walks of life with one thought, "To keep the shores and land of our country free from aggression." I have been affiliated with the Military now for over 20 years and have been in many conflicts. {From Just Cause to Desert Storm} But none that I have ever been involved in holds a candle to "The Vietnam Conflict." Many of my friends and I, when returning from Desert Storm, were greeted to a hero's welcome. I know how it made me feel, proud but also sad, for beside me stood many of the same men who were spit on and ridiculed, when 20 years prior, were returning from Vietnam. I can only speak for myself when I say, "Thank You". Thank You for serving....Thank You for standing up to what you believed in and Thank you for keeping my country free.

~*~ God Bless You All~*~

This land we call our own shall always remain free
From high atop the mountains, from sea to shinning sea
The ones we owe our gratitude, have done without regrets
These courageous men and women that are known to us as Vets
We need to take a moment and honor these fine souls
Along with all their families for taking war torn tolls
For them I hold a special place, forever deep inside
For they are true heroes, walk tall, you are our pride

Turn to the West, away from the rising sun.
Put your back to thee and ignore the turmoil
of Eastern humanity.
Fear not for your life, for your shores are safe.
No man shall step upon them and spread his deadly wrath
or thieve your freedom.
Has our passive existence rid us of our memory?
Have we lost the key to unlock our minds
allowing us to remember past atrocities?
"It's not our battle," you say.
Preservation of all mankind is our battle for all eternity.
Humanity hath no boundary line and hath no race, creed or color.
Now is the time to open our hearts and souls,
to the massacre of innocence.
And pray the Lord forgives us for turning our back
on the meek of this world.
